Pinches are really easy with them yes. I used to switch from pick to pick to pick until I found those many years ago, I love them because they are extremely precise but the tip is rounded off just enough to not be harsh. Not the best for strumming but I usually go fingerstyle for that anyhow.

Of course sometimes I'll play with a nickel or a bent beer bottle cap if necessary, anything works in a pinch (teh punnay!).
