long-running bands whose newest albums are underrated

Always wanted to get into these two bands. They sound good from what I've heard, but I think I had trouble finding their discs at decent prices. Where is a good place to start and possibly a good place to find them?"

Along with Tygers Of Pan Tang's WILD CAT and ANIMAL INSTINCT make sure to check out SPELLBOUND as well for a blast of early John Sykes. I really like CRAZY NIGHTS but there's mixed opinion on that one, worth hearing though...

Stryper "Murder By Pride"......these guys just seem to continue to make great music. Talented musicians, catchy melodic tunes, and maybe one of the most underappreciated voices in all of hard rock/metal in Michael Sweet.

No doubt. I admit I've never been a huge fan of Deris-Helloween, and The Dark Ride remains my favorite of that era, but the new one is definitely a close second. Really strong album.

Not only is "Gambling With The Devil" a really strong album, but so is the "Unarmed" best-of disc they released a few months ago.
Just like you, I've never been a big Deris fan, but damn ... his take on "A Tale That Wasn't Right" might be best vocal performance in metal this year. Holy crap it's fantastic.
I really really like the orchestral versions of songs like "A Tale...", "Forever & One" and the "Keeper..." medley, and even the big-band songs that a lot of people around here hates are pretty damn awesome in my book.
I was very surprised about this disc and I really love it. Perfect for the car rides :)
