That's a little unfair. I don't like the band either, but people should be able to listen to what they like. It annoys me (albeit slightly) when people slag off bands I like. Maybe you should say "hey guys, if you like SK, check these bands out...."?? Everyone goes through the "I like trendy bands" phase at some stage, the fortunate ones go one to discover the rest of the metal world.

Several words came to mind when I read this post and the threads on the links. Amongst them were 'small-minded', 'ignorant', 'arrogant', 'troll', and many others. But the first and most appropriate amongst these responses was the word 'moron'.
What the hell is the point of going onto forums dedicated to Slipknot and then slagging them off? What response are you trying to achieve? Do you feed off being abused? Are you addicted to wasting your time?
I just hope you suddenly don't decide to post a similar thread on these message boards, 'cause I've never had to delete a post or thread outright before, and don't really feel like starting now.

I went through that stage when I was 6...when I was 7 I got addicted to early Metallica (It was considered new then), Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax! Now I feed off of the insanely heavy stuff thats full of hate and contempt!

Dill-You raise some good points its true that its a nuissance to get bothered about your fav band and why bother going to a forum where ppl obviously like the very shit you despise? But some ppl like to be assholes! I'll admit most of the time I can be a PRICK and its fuckin fun! But if someone does this kind of shit all the time then theres some kind of problem!

For those of you who do this shit-Just cause you don't take Gayknot seriously doesn't mean others don't. If some little spack came to our Sinful Death board and started trashing one of our bands we would find them and make them watch as we slaughtered their families and then them for being retarded! If you don't like it then stay the fuck away from it!

you have to go in so hard on everyone, inedvertantly calling them arrogant and ignorant, oh well. anyway i think the real reason is he wants to have fun. maybe it can even be thought narrow minded to deny someone his fun and all. i think anyone has the right to freedom of expression and all. BUT yeah i agree, more tact maybe should be used. this place is kinda a friendly one, lets keep it that way mayhap, im sure AngelOfDeath feels a bit wierd at the moment but hey lets all move on then, nothing ever happened.

Sorry, sorry... I went overboard, I'll admit. I was having a bad day, and to be honest, things like that really do annoy the hell out of me. The thing is, I constantly find myself being asked to justify my opinions and musical preferences to people with no real interest in what I have to say beyond contradicting my words to annoy me - and that I can deal with. To find someone whose musical tastes are approximate to mine behaving the same way, though, is something I find truly galling.
Fine, maybe he is just having fun - but having fun at the expense of others.
And yes, this is generally a friendly place. Not one where people usually come online to brag about the fact that they've deliberately tried to antagonise others for their preferences.
So, yeah, I went over the top on my post, and I apologise for that. But I would like to see a little more respect for people's opinions. Maybe we don't all agree with each other's choice of listening material, but there really is no need to go out of your way to insult and belittle people because of the differences. I find that kind of thing both annoying and disheartening.
