Would you buy it just to have it? I hear the sheffield speakers are lacking but I'd replace them eventually.

Looking for a quick answer- $150 for a Peavey XXX cab?

Yes, most definitely. The XXX cab sounds pretty awesome on the latest Arch Enemy album, and makes for a pretty good live cab, as well!
Jump on it. I got a full stack of these xxx cabs brand new for 800$ and at 150$ you can't go wrong.

I really only just spent about 2 minutes with it. Made sure it worked was about all. It's in good shape so I feel pretty good about it. I'll have one of the guitarists in my band play through it tonight and get his opinion and form one for myself. Hell I figured just the unloaded cab is worth $150 since the info I found on it suggests it's real plywood and not particle board. I plan on replacing one or 2 of the speakers with vintage 30's at some point. I'm just getting into reamping so this will be the test mule.

I got a memory blank this morning but I think the back panel (the one I removed for the pics) is made of particles but I may be wrong.
My only gripe about these cabs is that the tolex covering on them seems easy to scratch (done a few gigs with mine).

A/B'd it with a Marshall 1960A last night. The XXX seemed tighter to me but the owner of the Marshall liked his better. I'm going to try to reamp some stuff this weekend with the XXX. See how it fairs under the scrutiny of a microphone... well maybe 2 microphones ala fredman.
Keep us posted. I own both, the 1960A and the XXX 4x12. I prefer the 6505 on top of the XXX as it got some kind of Mesa cab flavor.
But what's funny, is that I have owned both for a few months and never really conducted some tests. I will to do this eventualy.
What will happen is that i will like the XXX because I have now more reamping knowledge. Seems unfair to the Marshall huh? haha! Perhaps a blend of the 2 will work well. I'll post some stuff soon.
