Looking for a similar tone as this

I've been doing some experimenting and can't seem to nail this tone, which I love:




The reason I'm asking is because I'm recording a very "as i lay dying" esque style band and they have that very saturated, almost digital sound to the guitars.


Any suggestions?

EMG's (or any active pup really), TS, 5150, Mesa OS, v30's, Fredman

That really "throaty" sound (best way I can describe it) is really in the technique and the EMG's , along with the Fredman Technique

Link? I'd like to see what he's doing. I've tried the 5150/OS setup and it sounds nothing like this lol

witch as i lay dying guitar tone are you trying to emulate the newer stuff or shadows of security? shadows was a les paul studio im pretty sure. the newer ones were active guitars
