Our band needs someone who can play the soundfont...

No, I'm just in need of something simple. I grew up on FL studio and I'm looking for something similar to their built in VST. Load up your sf2 or sfz, program your piano roll and go. Anyone know of any free ones that may do the job?

thank you but their plug in search really doesn't work like that though.

How about if I ask what others are using? I've heard kontakt mentioned a lot around here. Maybe there's a free alternative?

Jind - that one def looks promising . thank you!

kaomao - haha true, but I love them. especially for composition.

You can do a little research in the thread over at KVR:

It should be noted that while SFZ+ is now free at: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=35-CWSZ1.40-20E it does not load .sfz files - it does however load .sf2 files and has a better GUI than the regular SFZ free. I guess it depends on what you are looking to do. Read over the thread and see what you need. Both are good tools for soundfont files, and each has their uses.
