Moved into a new home recently.
I'd like to get my monitors off of my desk and onto stands.
My carpet here is fairly fluffy. About a half inch thick.
No monitor stand I've looked at online would make me comfortable putting my monitors on them.
The monitors are fairly heavy, about 25 pounds each, and are about a foot and a half tall.
Also, while I have looked into carpet spikes, though don't seem as though they'll plant the stands into the ground well.
Maybe I'm wrong.

What about you guys?

A good set of monitor stands should come with the spikes. The ones I have came with spikes that are probably 1-1/2 inches long. They go through the carpet, through the carpet pad, and into the solid floor underneath. No problem.

Also, having stands you can fill with sand or lead shot helps with stability.

Or just build them yourself. 4 MDF boards for the "body", a big piece of MDF for the bottom stand, 1 fitting your monitor's size for the monitors to sit on, sand or anything similar to fill the construction and make it real heavy. Then paint it in any color you wish and repeat the whole process -> costs about 40€ and is sturdy as fuck.

+1 I've done exactly the same. Worked out well.
