Looking for some opinions on a condenser.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a condenser to basically do everything. Record acoustic, vocals, possibly some one-mic drum stuff.

I've looked into the Audio Technica AT4040, and the Rode nt1-a.

My budget is probably around $175, and I'll be using eBay. The AT and the Rode both go for around that.

Anyway I'm open to suggestions on other mic's or opinions on both of those! Thanks and Godbless my friends.

out of the 2, i'd go with the 4040 for sure

would prob. be my 1st pick of anything in that price range...

I have an NT1A and I don't like it at all. Too harsh, takes a lot of EQ to make it sound good

Alright I think I'm going to rule out the Rode, I've read a bunch on how harsh it is.

But if anyone knows any other <$200 condensers let me know!

Look into a studio projects B1 consdenser. They go for about $120 and they sound great.
