I've been wanting some new gear for a while, and I'm thinking about getting a new guitar and a new amp. I have three Schecters Hellraiser Solo-6, Hellraiser C-1FR, and a Hellraiser C-7. I didn't intend to buy three hellraisers but it just so happened that the best deals that I could get on guitars were on Hellraisers. I think I paid less than 500 for each of them, so I got a good deal on all of them. Right now I want a guitar with passive pickups, though. I like EMGs it's just that I'm in the mood for something else. I was looking at maybe getting an EVH Wolfgang. The pickups on those things have a wide variety of tones just by playing with the volume and tone knobs. Good enough cleans and lots of great distorted tones. The necks on those things are also divine. I was also considering an Epiphone Custom Les Paul and putting BKs in it. Leaning towards the Wolfgang, though, like the neck a little more.

As far as the amp goes, I was looking at getting a 5150iii mini stack. I don't gig a whole lot I mainly just like jamming and occasionally recording something, and the 5150iii is incredible. It's kind of expensive, but it is a great amp. Probably the 50w head and a 1x12 cab, I'm concerned about volume and it being too loud to practice at home with. I have a Line 6 75w Spider IV right now and I was looking for something a little nicer. I realize that I'll have to buy a few pedals if I get a new amp and that's another expense. I also saw a 5150i witha Soldano mod on Craigslist for like six or seven hundred, also considering that too and it's been moded to a 60w head. However, I still kinda want some nicer gear. Music's a money pit, what can I say.

Anyways, your thoughts? Suggestions?

The SpiderValve stuff is okay not a huge fan though. I've gotten big into the new EVH stuff. I'm not an Eddie Van Halen fan boy by any means but I've just been blown away with this stuff. The 5150 amps have always been top shelf, but it's better now. The guitars are great too. I went to my local guitar store and played one hooked up to a Dark Terror, and I was able to get just about every tone I could think of. The old Zeppelin classic rock tone, the EVH tone (obvi), and even the heavier metal tones just by dicking around with the volume and tone knobs. I was blown away quite frankly.
