Looking to replace my PODXT

Hey!

I've had my PODXT for about 5 years now and the screen has kinda gone a bit weird and I feel like my recordings are now let down by it.

I use it to record guitars & bass, direct in via USB.

The bass isn't too bad actually but guitars are just meh and all my songs have that kinda fake shitty sound haha!

Due to my setup I don't think buying an awesome amp and micing is possible, I need to keep volume to a minimum!

I've seen the AxeFx, which sounds phenomenal but its quite expensive, like £2000!

There must be something decent for less money than that!

Any suggestions or is it worth forking out for an AxeFx?

(Bonus question, is the AxeFx any good for recording bass?)

Thanks!

Maybe grab a rackmount preamp (Engl E530?) and use impulses? Certainly less expensive than an AxeFx and should be an upgrade from a POD XT (though it won't be anywhere near as flexible)

Sorry, I'm not that educated with this stuff. I've just made do with my small amp and PODXT.

I thought this was somewhere to get help, not abuse?

Anyone want to help?

Have you checked out any of the free amp sims made by nick crow? Or lepou or the TSE series made by onqel

Google em all :)

The only other decent all-in-one product I know of is the Eleven rack.

Cheaper than AxeFx.
