lost perspective on this (breaking benjamin-esque with female vox)

i think the bass sticks out too much + the guitars would need some work, for my taste at least ;)
its pretty loud, dunno if too much though

the song is nice imo, as the voice!

yeah part of that is the parts themselves - they just wouldn't listen to me as far as that goes. The bass in the chorus is like basically a different song than what the guitars are doing. too late now. I gotta be more of a dick during tracking or something.

I just feel like I can't get everything to gel still. Especially the vox - I'm referencing to breaking benjamin and their vox are so loud but yet still sit in there so well. frustrating.

I think the vox volume is OK since the mix is focused in on the singer; I agree though that they still seem to sit on top of the mix a bit much. Maybe a slight be more delay/verb to get them slotted in with the overall mix?

now there's a bit too much bass on the guitars...mixing this has to be a PITA haha.
+1 to delaym,verb
i think its more about sorting out the EQ for the guitar, then the rest will sit better

mixing this has to be a PITA haha.

yes. yes. yes. and there's 5 other songs to mix too haha. it's making me want to kill myself, I've never had this much trouble with a mix before.

I'll try out a few of you guys' suggestions and post again in a bit.

thanks!

vox level seems good to me. To be honest it could probably come up a bit in the verse. The way I do it, is I turn down the monitors completely, then turn them up slowly. What's the first thing you hear? if it isn't the vocals, they aren't loud enough for Pop/rock.
