Jim, have you ever thought of perhaps creating a LotFP logo and adding it as a watermark behind the text? you could do it just enough to add a little (graphical) interest yet no detract from the content itself.

Generally when trying to figure out what I'll do with the thing, I go for functionality... nothing's ever going to make the thing 'pleasing' to look at, and adding a watermark is like having a flash intro to a website... pointless fluff.
