Yeah, Matt is probably the one thing that could have made this album awesome. I was listening to some IE last night, and his vocals on the live version of 'Colors' from the Melancholy EP are some of the best vocals I have ever heard. So much range. Awesome ballsy thrash vocals, to high wails and screams. That version has to be one of my fav IE tracks. Awesome.

I was thinking that a while ago, it would be weird if people he worked with or went to uni with or whatever knew who he was. Imagine having Matt Barlow in your class...I would bitch slap him and tell him to wake up to himself.

At least Matt wouldnt sound so power metally, Ripper is a really great vocalist, but it sounds like Jon has been forcing him to sing in a higher register for all the songs, whereas Matt sounds way more menacing, especially with his screams, Ripper sounds too "clean". But I know Ripper wouldnt have had any say in how the vocals were done.

Listen to Dimmu Borgir, they are WAY better than Emperor Blitzy

I'm sorry, but the Horror Show vocals are some of the worst and most annoying I've heard. But that's probably dude to that 'layering' technique spawn said they used on that album..

To be honestly, Ripper totally blows him away! So unless this album is full of gay power-metal influences, like The Reckoning chorus sounds like, I think it'll be awesome!

I do think Matt's vocals on HS sound a bit fucked at times, but he is still awesome. Go listen to The Phantom Opera Ghost, he rocks. Ripper is also amazing, but I think exactly what Spawn was just saying, he sounds too clean and structured. I am sure he will still sound great on the album though, just not as good as Matt, which is to be expected.

Spawn, DB are heaps better than Emperor from what I have heard, is just that my winamp playlist is on random hehe.
