Just picked up the book Lords Of Chaos- the bloody rise of the satanic metal underground and the mention comes when the are talking about the differences of thrash, death ,black and speed metal. heres the clip:

"the late 80s saw the brief ascendency of thrash metal, exemplified by bands like Anthrax, M.O.D., Metallica and even the more extreme Slayer."

then goes on to say about how thrash was dead when....
quote " Thrash bands like Anthraxactually began collaborating with rappers and incorporating elements of hiphop into their songs"

just started reading it. so far its a good book, lots of pics for dopes like me. :D

Good to see M.O.D get a mention they are normally overlooked for S.O.D..why dont S.T or D.R.I or Overkill,Testament ever get a mention??? Alway's the big 4 but i could list a least another 5??!!! i think :err:
 
that is a great fuckin book, one of the best quotes from the black metal scene is something like "we're out wearing spikes and leather and axes, and the american scene is wearing sweatpants" hahahahahahahaha its so true. i love norwegian black metal, and just black metal in gereral.
