I know threads on monitors have been on this forum 100 times but i have money in my pocket and i need people with experience with both these monitors to tell me what they think i should go with. any help is appreciated

well fellas i went out to the o guitar center last night to pick out some new monitors and it came down to these monitors Dynaudio bm5a, Mackie hr824, KRK RP-8, Event SP 8. and not to go into a bunch of bullshit explanations i chose the Event SP 8'S i thought they where the better set for me anyway just thought i would throw that out there:rock:

We have a pair of HR824's, KRK RP-8's Alesis M1 mkII's, ADAM P22-A's, and a pair of JBL 1-point monitors in the walls. The RP-8's are very similar to the HR824's, they have a bit of their own character but really if you had to do a blind test (in our room) they sound nearly identical.

to tell you the truth i was suprised that i liked the KRK's over the Mackie's and for the price of the mackies you could get the KRK rp8's and the krk sub! o yeah and im fucking loving my SP 8's

Congrats! Good Choice man! I traded in a pair of Event Tr8XLs for my Precision 8s. I had to remix everything I had tracked with the TR8s! I haven't touched the "EQ" section on the back of 'em. I want em to be "flat" I guess. I've learned you can use your reflection from the covers, to set your monitoring triangle. When the reflection of your face is right in the middle of both tweets, your set! Best fuckin monitors I've ever owned.
