i just stumbled across the idea of installing macos snow leopard
on pc. it seems to work.
i dont know if its ok to post links about this topic, i think here in germany its legal to do it, i dont know about the rest of the world.

anyway you may try google "snowleopard on pc" for more info.

im thinking about trying it out, basically because i want to use
harrisson mixbus daw, i heard really great things about that,
but its mac only.

so anyone tried it out?
is it stable?

im afraid i setup a system like this, that starts but gives me headaches
when actually working with this baby...

what do you gyus think?

Hi Dan, i've done it. It can be a pain in the ass, but it can also be a breeze- completely dependant on your hardware. I had some fun getting it to work with my 5870 gfx card, and even more fun making it work in 64 bit mode with it (thats because snow leopard has only just begun to support them though). Im thinking of buying a 6970 when it gets released, but of course snow leopard isnt going to like it for another eyar knowing my luck. What are your specs?

kev!

Intel Core Quad 6600
Gigabyte 965P DS4
Gskill PC6400 4 GB
Nvidia Gforce 7100gs (512 mb)
focusrite saffire 56
2 uad 2 cards
daw : nuendo 5

i read that the gforce will not work with mac-os...
but i could get another one for 30€ i guess, so that shouldnt be the problem.
i also read its only possible with intel chipsets (but my board has that)

im a total mac noob, but would like to go there. and it would be pretty cheap this way ;-)=

so are you working on a hackintosh with problems?

Sounds like you'll be fine after a graphics card swap dude. The saffire 56 will work nice and easy, not sure about the UAD cards though, cant see why not!

Get yourself a copy of snowleopard first of all, then I would use tony mac's iboot and multibeast applications to ensure a flawless install and configuration. I used a modded disk in the end, although the retail should work ok too with the tony mac stuff.

With a bit of luck this guide should see you through:

Only install the drivers necesary otherwise you'll probably get kernal panics or something. Make sure to install the right wireless chipset if you use wireless connection for your net.

nice ! thanks man, illt ry that!

btw. is it enough to only buy the upgrad of snow leopard. some people say it works, that would only be 25€.
