MacPro to stop shipping in EU Mar 1

This could mean that new Mac Pros should launch in 2013!! Not that I am getting anywhere near one anytime soon, I am hoping that it knocks the used price of the current Mac Pros down a little as I am still using a G5. Don't get me wrong, I love it but I am starting to feel somewhat left out with some software that I would like to use not being compatable. I also wonder if Mac pro are considered "unsafe", will there be a massive saturation of Used Mac pros in the market from companies needing to comply with the latest BS EU regulation thus driving prices down...I can but dream!

^Honestly, I kinda doubt they'll even bring the Mac Pros back at this point. They haven't updated them in a while and the current Intel processors out perform the server based processors in the Pros. The only thing that a Mac Pro has over the iMac now is that you can expand it with all the slots, whereas the iMac is very limited in that sense.

Your title is misleading, Apple won't be selling them from March 1st until there's either an update or they change the shielding on the device to comply with the new EU regulation.

BUT resellers will be free to keep selling them afterwards until their stock runs out.

I don't see a new Mac Pro coming. From what I've heard, they're focusing development on the iMac range and touch-screen technology. Apple don't see the classic "tower" computer as a viable future investment. Just what I was told anyway.

This is what I've heard from the Apple engineers I know as well. Margins are high, but the market is small and not worth the engineering costs.

No, Tim Cook has officially confirmed last year that new Mac Pro were due first semester of 2013.

Maybe... but that not why Apple stop selling mac pro in EU, and only in EU.
They did because new law is coming so they need to upgrade some thing (it's mostly fan related). So they took the train before it's start.

I think in a mid/long term future they want to get rid of the tower format, but they won't disappear from this segment before the propose a viable solution to professionals, I would bet on a new (maybe last) mac pro line this year
