MADDER MORTEM Split With Guitarist, Bassist - Aug. 17, 2003
Norway's MADDER MORTEM have parted ways with bassist Paul (Pål Mozart Bjørke) and guitarist Eirik Ulvo Langnes. "Paul wanted to quit in order to be able to concentrate on his son 100% and also live a more 'normal' life compared to the rather 'abnormal' MADDER lifestyle," according to a post on the band's web site, while "with Eirik, we felt that it didn't work out like it should musically anymore, and it seemed like he didn't feel as comfortable playing in this band as much as the rest of us."

Paul's final performance with the group took place at Elveblest in Årnes on Saturday, August 16. The gig also featured the live debut of the band's as-yet-undisclosed new guitarist.

MADDER MORTEM, whose last album, "Deadlands", was released in Europe in October 2002 through Century Media Records, are "alive and already kicking it with a new guitarist and bass player, writing songs for the [group's] upcoming album. We have a new groove within the band and we're going to give the next album 150% priority until we're done with it!

"The names of the new guitar player and bassist will be announced shortly, we just want to get some photos taken, so that you can see their incredibly handsome faces."
