Hey guys,

I've recently bought a Harley Benton 212 cab with V30s, because my Engl 4x12 cab stays at my friend's place most of the time for practice purposes and I wanted something a little more...mobile ;)

I honestly didn't expect anything of it, but after fooling around with it for 2 weeks I must say: this is a surprisingly good cab for the money! It is a tad brighter than the Engl pro, and doesn't sound as deep (might just be due to the fact that it's a 2x12 though), but it fits pretty well to my style.

But enough with the sales pitch, let's get to the point:
I've created some impulses with my 6505 through the cab for your enjoyment.
Since I did this last night, and I didn't want to wake up the entire neighbourhood, I've chosen to just mic it in a single position (sneapstyle) for now and change only the resonance and presence roughly. If people like this though, I will add a few more mic positions and settings later on. I can also do the same with the Engl pro 4x12 when I get it back. It's the least I can do for this amazing forum :)

Here is the set of impulses:

And here is an example of how it sounds in a mix. The mainguitar is the R8 P5 impulse with just some hp/lp and 1 or 2 notches around 5/7khz:

The chain was Profire 2626 output > 6505 FX return > HB212 > SM57 Sneapstyle about 1 inch from grille > Profire 2626 input

Hope you enjoy!

This is the cab everybody wants! :D J/K I've owned two of these cabs and they are surprisingly good for the price. Might be just because of the V30s though. :)

You are all very welcome! It's not the greatest set of impulses in the world, but I have to start somewhere, right? :D

Hehe, and yea Clark Kent, the cab is becoming a topic of discussion lately because of its price/quality it seems, so I thought this might also help some people to get an idea of what the cab sounds like in a typical micposition, in case they are wondering if they should get one or not. Ofcourse one shouldn't expect a mesacab for that price (especially not in Europe, ugh), but I've played on other cheapo cabs before and those were far worse; close to unusable.

I should probably add that the cab isn't perfectly broken in yet, so I might have to make a few news impulses in a couple of months. For now, I'm very happy with it though!
