Maiden mentioned on The Prisoner DVDs

I got my box set of the entire series on Thursday, and there's a documentary on the fifth disc called "The Prisoner Companion."

More or less a beginner's guide with a dash of behind the scenes info, it talks about both Prisoner-related Maiden songs (for the uninitiated, the other one is Back in The Village) and shows the covers of NOTB and Powerslave. In the immortal words of Bill & Ted, "not bad, dude!"

Didn't I hear a story once about Harris or Martin Birch ringing Patrick McGoohan for permission to use the sample and being very nervous about talking to him, and him saying something like "Of course" or something like that? Someone else must know this story...

Yep, it's on both 12 Wasted Years and the Number of the Beast Classic Albums DVD. Rod called him, McGoohan said, "What's the name of the band again?" and after Rod said "Iron Maiden" McGoohan paused then said, very McGoohan-ishly, "OK, do it".
