Kicked some major ass last night at the Vogue! I had to work till 2030 last night so I did not get a chance to check out Weedeater(but I met those
guys at The Alley Cat Lounge cool dudes!) or Alabama Thunderpussy which
im at a lost. But Crowbar came on and the ppl went apeshit in the pit moshing
to some crushing sludge metal. They played a lot of their new album and with
that in mind it looks like Im gonna have to make a trip to the record store to
pick that mofo up! Along with a couple of songs from Odd Fellows Rest. Plus
the played 4 or 5 songs from their S/T and their 2nd album which the name
eludes Kirk is more punishing than ever on guitar and his vocals were sick
and thier drummer was amazing! Then COC came on destroyed everyone
when they opened up with "Paranoid Opiod" from their new cd. The place
went nuts other than Mike Dean having some problems with his bass cord
the musicianship was very tight and they played songs from just about all
thier albums including "Hungry Child" which Mike Dean did the vocals for that
one like he did back in the day. Plus they played "Wiseblood", "Clean My Wounds" and 2 more songs from Deliverance plus some songs from Volume
Dealer which I can't tell ya cause I dont have that cd yet along with Wiseblood but that will be taken care of soon. But the highlight of the night
for me and it got this reaction
was when they played "Voting With A Bullet" from my favorite COC cd Blind and I was like that's it im 36 and all but Im pitting!!! Plus they played the most of the new cd along with the crushing
"In The Arms Of God" for the finale. This had to be one of the best shows I've seen in years if that tour comes through your town do yourself a big favor and go you will not be disappointed!!!
