Man sues venue because of a mosh pit

Honestly I don't go to concerts to jump in the pit either.

We had a problem with idiots coming to shows and straight kicking people in the head while fighting invisible ninjas. It was over the top apparent they were doing it on purpose.

I actually thought the way it was handled was pretty sweet. Group gets together, everyone in said group shows up to show with a Sharpie and just holds it out. Fucks up your shirts, gets all over your face and makes you look like a moron whenever you feel you need to slam bump your body into people who are just trying to enjoy the fucking show.

Don't get me wrong, dance the shit off if you want to. Do a pit up, but keep your fists and feet to yourself asshole.

Honestly I'm amazed these kind of lawsuits haven't been filed more often.

i don't like mosh pits at all either, i go to concerts to listen to music, not get injured

when i go to a concert, i'm taking my phone, if i get injured while in the audience of a concert, i'm calling a mutherfucking ambulence and going to the ER right when it fucking happens

I absolutely fucking hate those cunts. Swinging your fucking limbs about like crazy and looking like a total idiot whilst doing so. Don't understand it at all.

I used to enjoy a good mosh when I was younger, but it was never about hurting people, just jumping around, getting some stress/tension out and having a good time. You always made sure to look out for people and make sure they were ok.

These days I just chill up by the sound desk and enjoy the show. Better sound and you aren't drenched in sweat by the end of it.

Haven't read the article. But pits/concerts aren't what they used to be, or i am just getting old. I've seen people getting pissed at me cause i spilled their beer, but they were standing at the edge of pit during suffocation... what do you expect there?
Don't like those ninja kickers iether, but the tip there is. If you almost get hit, or get hit, don't push em away. They get pissed-off, just kick em, they don't mind that.

Never participated. I'd rather hang out in front of the guitar player & try to get a pick.

FWIW, when James was in Testament, he never even threw out one the entire night. :)

I use to get right in the middle of the pit; less so these days!

I think the final straw was watching Hatebreed at the LA2 a few years back. I had just got in from upstairs, grabbed a pint from the bar, and was standing at the back near the desk, and saw a guy being carried out by his friends with blood streaming down his face.

I enjoy getting in a pit, as long as it's not the stupid hardcore dancing twats that just don't have any spacial awareness and push/punch people for no reason, there's no need for it.

That said i'd rather be on the front row trying to grab a pick and headbanging away, what's the point in having long hair if you're not gonna use it >:)

Hah this happened in my hometown. I have no problem with old fashioned pits and I don't get angry when I get hit. The only time I've ever got into an altercation was with kids that were running from side to side of a smaller venue stomping and flailing their fists into people off to the side of the pit and my girlfriend at the time got knocked down violently. They were there for some shitty hipster band that somehow got booked on the show.

I was gonna complain about how "if you don't want to be in a mosh pit, don't go near it." But reading his story, that's a different rant all together. I hate the dudes who that. For one, if I'm not in the pit, DON'T PULL ME IN. There's a reason why I'm not in it. Secondly, stop that karate crap. You can push, and slam, but that's it. The karate stuff makes it not fun, and looks dumb. Like Havok says, NO KARATE IN THE PIT.

I think it's funny when people go to hardcore shows and expect not to get hit. It's probably going to happen, you'll live.
Worst experience I had is when some dudes were throwing down to a death metal band as if they were fucking Sick Of It All or something. I think they were doing it just because that band and the guys were buddies.
Anyways, someone minding his own business on the side gets hit by one of these douches and proceeds to push him once. That's all he did and the guy that got pushed was literally calling him out for like 5 minutes and eventually (with the help of his more douche-y friends) tackled him and knocked down the PA breaking so much shit.

Of course the guy who kept to hisself got blamed for everything... Ticked me off so much.

honestly I'd get pretty pissed too, if I get pushed/draged into the pit and then get injured in there.
But the ones to sue then are the wankers pushing/pulling you in there, not the venue or the band.
Maybe the venue, if the security wasn't filtering out the asshats, but I dunno.

I used to get into pits when I was younger (lol, saying that in the mid 20ies), and also used to enjoy it...but it was never about throwing around limbs kicking the shit out of people.
My understanding is that this comes from hardcore concerts, which is fine for me if it stays there.
If it showes up at a metal concert then it starts to get ugly.
