I got to see Marillion last night on thier latest tour, it was the first time they have been to the U.S. in about 7 years.
GREAT show, they once again proved to me why they are one of my favorite bands.

Although they didn't do a " greatest hits " set the songs that they played sounded flawless. Steve Hogarth is a really really really great front man.

The band did 3 encores ( I don't really like encores but it's nice when they play forever )

Two thumbs up!

On the 5 years in a livetime dvd of dream theater, they do show with several artists. They played a song called "Easter" with the Marillion guitar player and their singer (i think, he's also playing keyboard). This song is awesome.

Dan! my friend from Texas came all the way from San Antonio to DC to see them last THursday he said it was AMAZING!
I'm not too much into marilion- but I'm happy you had a good time

See I can't say that Fish is/was better than Hogarth or vice versa. I like both for different reasons.

Vocally Hogarth smokes Fish as Fish's voice is shot now. Hogarth has a much broader range. Fish of course had better lyrics and song concepts. Hogarth is also a better front man in my opinion and has more talent musically.

But Fish can out drink him...

BUT I like them both equally.

BTW the new Marillion CD is pretty darn good. very experimental.

Yes I saw that, It was an OK version at best. Easter is one of my favorite songs, I learnt it in my voice lessons long time ago. They did that last night as an encore.

yeah the new one is great.

I never could appreciate ANY of the hogarth albums nearly as much as the Fish ones, but the new one I really like.

Seasons End is pretty cool in its own way, but I don't own it yet, so here's another vote for: MISPLACED CHILDHOOD IS AMAZING. In fact, I may have to listen to it RIGHT NOW.

My first introduction to Marillion was the 5 Years in a Live Time bit and Easter is a beautiful song. I checked them out, heard whispers of this legendary Fish era and once I got MC....dayum.

Well, just to rub it in your faces. For all of you DT fans, Back in the day I saw DT open for Marillion. At the time there was no singer, pre Labrie post Dominici 100% instrumental set. was most cool, I think that was when I first hear them play a Change of Seasons. Yeah, some DT songs are that old LOL.

yeah some drunk guy at the uli roth show last month told me about it, but he gave me the wrong date, and i never bothered to double check  (yes i guess i shouldn't believe exactly everything a random drunk guy says :P )

so i thought it was this week, and i was gonna just find out more about it tomorrow, thinking it was going on this thursday or friday... oh well
