We were talking about Italian stereotypes.

I know. I was just curious if his great, great, grandfather was pure Italian mafia or if it was Italo-American, that's all.

There are several different types of mafia in Italy, and that's why I asked where he was from.

The stereotypical Italian mafioso is Sicilian, isn't he?

Yes and no. The stereotypical background is Sicilian, but when you see a mafia film and they start butchering the language, it's usually Napolitano. Incorrect Napolitano, at that, with the way they slur the words and everything goes up and down in pitch with every syllable. It's extremely exaggerated. However, the Sopranos episode where Furio returns to Napoli and is speaking entirely in Napolitano is 100% correct and done very well.
