Reale was a great songwriter with amazing guitar skills and an unflinching desire to push forward against the odds. That last quality became even more apparent to me when I read about his health recently. Riot may not ever have had the commercial success of their peers, but they deserve every bit of respect that those peers have, and Reale is the reason why. Rest in peace.
