MaryLand Death Fest anyone?

If I remember correctly, a good share of the people in that crowd were other band members.

i can't believe this ... the Milwaukee Metal fest was an institution ... with ZERO promotion it should draw at least 1000 bodies

To the kids into that music, it's a huge line-up. There are a few bands on there I'd love to see. One of the biggest things about this show is their ability to grab bands from around the world. In the US there is currently no other festival that can come close to this one in terms of worldwide participation.

True... although I'm not into 50% of the bands at all, and the headliners are really the only bands worth watching,
MDF is always such a great fun. Most of the shows are entertaining, even if one doesn't like the music (I personaly HATE gore-grind metal, yet still
enjoys watching those crazy bands on stage)
and most importantly: these are 3 days of booze and beers and catching up with friends from all over the globe... I always have a blast...
If one of you 'locals' is going, find me and lets share an ale!
:kickass:

^ oh, and there are so many people who come to this fest from not only
all over the country, but all over the world (my Dutch friends are there every year, not to mention a load of people from Sweden and Japan)
It's really NOT ONLY for the music... it's just the most relaxed, non-potentious, down to earth, friendly crowd, fests i've been to

Agreed. Back in the day, this was the greatest weekend of every year. We started planning for the next year while we were driving home Sunday morning. It was like the Dead Lioness said about MDF...you didn't necessarily want to see all of the bands there, but there were a handful you had to catch and a handful you were glad you caught after the fact. The best part was seeing the people that you only saw once a year. We almost went last year for a little sense of nostalgia but I knew it would be shit so we passed. I spoke with one of the members of Acheron shortly after that show and couldn't believe how bad it was. Twenty people at the Milwaukee Metalfest. What a sad, sad day.

Jack was always good to me and everyone I dealt with on a regular basis. However, I also know that he fucked a great deal of people over the years. He really just needs to go away. The line-up is really of no consequence. People will not support him again. I had originally heard that he had asked someone to come in and help secure promotion/bands, etc as a way of trying to get people to think he was no longer involved. WTF.
