I'm looking to get an equalizer unit this month, The GML 8200 Seems to be the main contender from my research. Just wondering if anyone here has had experience with one or even an equalizer you might rate highly thats worth checking out??

That's an amazing unit. What is the intended application? Honestly in that price range gearslutz might be worth a look too as I honestly don't think very many guys in here have their hands on $5000 eq's.

It's great. If you're in that price range, the only one I like as much is the Manley Massive Passive. I think I prefer the Manley a little bit, but it depends on what you're using it for.

If you are looking for a mastering EQ, I can think of a few options:
-As you said, the GML 8200, or it's mastering version: the 9500. I've used the 8200 a couple of times. Very surgical and precise.
-Massive Passive (Manley). These are quite common in mastering studios, so you're gonna see them often on ebay. I bought one there - it's a warm, colorful eq, with a very nice low end. Not as surgical as the GML.
-Great River MAQ-2NV. I've heard amazing things about this unit.
-Gyratec G14. People in gearslutz praise this one a lot.

There are many stereo parametric eq's intended for mastering in the market, so do your research before getting one. What do you want? A colorful eq? A warm one? Precision?

Try out an A designs Hammer EQ if you get the chance. It sounds amazing - expecially the mids and top end. The only down side I can think of is that it is 3 bands.

100 thai brides !!!! Shit, fuck the Gml then, now I know where to spend my money else where, hahaha. Yeah man, I've had my eye on it for a long long time, very pricy hence the reason for asking everyones opinions on it. I've got a list of gear i'm looking to get for a while, GML is next on the list. such an expensive job to have uh :erk:

Totally off subject Kev, But just checked your myspace and noticed you got Dave and Gillion in your top mates, you know Gillion well?? I'm producing his bands new album next month.

Hey Chuck yeh I do know the G man pretty well, see him every week at football : ) Last I heard they were going to get the guy who did sylosis to do it, but I cant remember the name exactly! Word has it Gillion might be sacking off the triple rectifier for a bit of 5150 tightness.

Yeah scott was gonna do it, I'm doing it now. If he is selling his mesa, think I'll give a buzz bout that bad boy.
