Dan told me, he was been asked for an interview about Mastered by Muppets for the new official Metallica biography (!) He fuckin´missed it :zombie:

I get lots of Emails each day about Mastered by Muppets. Unfortunately I cannot do anything progressive, because Dan is the man. If he´d give me the "okay", I´d record the complete backingtrack for Enter Soundman. Though as far as I know, he began to work on it already.

Glad you guys liked the "dumb motherfuckers" line. I was tracking the backup vocals & when it got to that part, I started to lay down the "Master! Master!" like the original.... ....and thought, "hmmm... there's an opportunity here!"

The Nelson laugh at the end was my idea as well... took a while to find a clean sample of it though....


All in all, a wonderful project to be part of. Fantastic players, great lyrics, great people.

Not really, it was good practice, atleast for me (listening and programming the drums to midi). I didn't automate the velocities in any way because samplers interpret varying velocities differently. But the good thing is that if/when it sometimes in the future sees daylight, atleast it's half finished. It's only missing vocals, bass (and the quiet solo at the end?) recording wise.

My proposal is still current, I´m willing to do the vocal harmonics and the first half of the wah solo is already recorded (the other half is not filled yet).
