mastering is really bugging me

trying to master my bands album and i'm struggling to get it sounding right. I'm pretty sure theres some unpleasant frequencies in there but i've got no idea where to start!

If i take out too much mud it sounds thin, take out too much hi mids it sounds woolly. :cry:

Gotta have it sent off to the replicators this week at the latest if we're gonna stay on schedule, so only got time for quick fixes really at this stage.

Try using a multi-band compressor to glue everything together a little better. It just sounds like the parts vocals, gtrs, everything else are in seperate areas but are not meshing together.

Also try referencing a mastered song while you're mastering, I would lean toward a Trivium style song. That's what it sounded like to me :)

Yes, multiband compression would probably fit the bill.
Play around with it. Sometimes I find that I dont need to compress the mids.
