I've had my fun, and I'm all for sharing it. So go for it Sullen Jester. You're doing okay, although it shouldn't be that hard now. She's clearly lost the plot (and the pot).

You're telling me that calling someone a stupid bitch - someone you hardly even know - can be considered a "figure of speech"??? And no, I didn't insult him back at all! I've tried not to call him any kind of ridiculous curse words as he did me. I took offense to it, and I made it bluntly clear. He was the one who made a ridiculous thread named FAO Jannet and Misanthrope, put words in my mouth (I called Misanthrope a cunt? what?), just for kicks. He was the one who equated my idea with his girlfriend asking him to fingerpop his ass. And then he said, quote "what's wrong with women?" I responded, not insulting, and he came back with "what's wrong with this stupid bitch?" You call that "figure of speech"? I suggest you read ALL the threads in their entirety (Ants in my kitchen, FAO Jannet and Misanthrope, and maynard), instead of just picking here and there and making comments on such. I don't give a shit if this is his personality, (and I've had more than one person tell me so), how he's so full of satire and jokes. If he was joking with calling me a stupid bitch, I didn't find it funny. I found it quite insulting, and that's that.

I have read the above said threads. I have read many posts by Wolff before. I have come to the conclusion that if you were here longer, you wouldn't be taking this like you are, and you'd be doing what various individuals like Belial have done: laugh.

Go read the "2xl metal shirts" or whatever its called thread. "Gay" and other degoratory comments were used, and it was a "figure of speech". When my computer is not working, and I scream "Blatant homosexual!", does it mean I honestly think my computer is a blatant homosexual? Does it mean that I am a homophobe? No. It's said for want of a better word. Saying that "school is gay" or "this tastes like shit" are not literal meanings, but in fact, for want of a better word. I don't know what shit tastes like, I hope not to know, but do you think that I mean the ACTUAL TERM of SHIT when I say "damn, this song is shit!"? Well?

It's not a personal thing, but you don't seem to understand that, and as long as you keep that mindset you'll continue to be the butt of jokes.

Because maturity is closely tied to age. Short of education, age is really the only other determining factor (I suppose experience, too---but that too is usually closely connected to age).

I find it stupid to do that. People with understanding, reason (MATURITY) must wait a LONG time just so they can do things, all because of this AGE crap. AGE means nothing.

What the person UNDERSTANDS, ACKNOWLEDGES is what counts.

I think you're confusing two different things. Mature by definition means ripe: having completed natural growth and development.

Anyways I had a crack at Jannet's "Top-Poster" query in Yahoo. Turns out the first two hits were e-sites selling MOVIE posters.

and Jannet, here's something to think about. You post too much. Calm down. This isnt a chatroom its a forum, you dont have to reply to everything, you dont have to say every joke that comes into your head, you dont have to make an intelligent comment on everything. Its a forum filled with many users so respond when something is relevant to you and leave room for the other users to make their impression. You're crowding the forum and responding to every thread whether the thread interests you or not. Its annoying. Given that, i think the content of your posts has been good and you seem intelligent, so just relax and choose to observe more (like Lina already suggested). Its just out of respect for the other users of the board. Its just something to think about, if you think im wrong then so be it, but all im asking is that you become one of the members of this board, instead of trying to become a part of every single conversation.

Personally, I think TOOL rules, a lot of that having to do with Maynard, but also they have very unusual, proggy, melodies. Like on Stinkfist, where they take a very simple pattern and expand it out to something more resembling a tune.

I think Maynard's best vocals are on Undertow. A lot of the vocals on Aenima are really gimmicky, in my opinion, like the beginning of Stinkfist. Overall, I think Lateralus ties with Undertow. Not that I dont like Aenima, it has some great songs, including my favorite TOOL song, Third eye, that song just plain rules. But it also has some real crap on it, including all those stupid musical vignettes.

Undertow is probably the best, I agree. Lateralus hasn't clicked for me yet though.
