I've just received my mbox 2....
the first test (with cheap in ear headphones which are usually superloud) scared me a bit...
although the level was cranked the output volume was very low (the noise was rather high, so I expected the music to be ear-ripping).
is this a common thing for the mbox2 (don't think so, cause my mbox2 micro doesn't have that problem), or is something wrong with my mbox?
the same headphones plugged directly into the macbook are MUCH louder (like 10 times as loud or so)...
does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

k, meanwhile I've stried it with another pair of headphones, on another computer and on pt 7.4 as well as pt8.
same problem, so I guess it'll be the mbox itself, any ideas?

Where have you got the mix knob set to? IIRC it should be all the way to the right unless you want to mix in signal from the analogue inputs.

Never had a problem with the headphone level when I had my mbox.

Mix Knob all the way to the right, Lasse. How is the level metering from within ProTools? There should be plenty of headroom for the cans. I recently blasted myself with the volume at nearly 3/4 and the acoustic shock fucked me up for a few minutes.
