MEGADETH Release New Single And Video “I Don’t Care”

Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine says about the anthemic “I Don’t Care”:
How many times have you wanted to say this to someone? I know you want to! Deep down inside, if we had the balls, we would tell more people, ‘I don’t care’ more often.
Part of the main riff in this track had been floating around in my head since we did TSTD&TD, so I was pumped to start recording ‘I Don’t Care’ for this LP. I really love the guitar nuances in the track. There is the main rhythm riff, next, a very deliberate down-picking part, next, the octave chords with jump picking on octave notes (while still down-picking!). And the soloing and back and forth between me and Teemu [Mäntysaari] is magnificent!!

DAVE MUSTAINE On MEGADETH’s Farewell Trek – “We’re Easily Talking About Touring For Another Three To Five Years”

I think when things happen like the throat cancer, or my neck being fused, or the saturnine palsy in my arm, most people would stop. Most people would be terrified, and I did step back and regroup, But this is what I love doing, and I know that at some point the time is going to come for our last show.
We’re easily talking about touring for another three to five years. And if we’re going to be doing it for that long then, shit, I’ll be looking at the birthday I don’t even want to think about!

DUDE! I have so much to say about the potential of this album. It's getting waved off now since "I Don't Care" came out, but to be fair, it'd be hard to beat "Tipping Point". I love "I Don't Care" because it would be perfect back in the 80s-90s, and really encapsulates the feel of what music used to be. I've already pre-ordered all of the collector's merch for the album and I have no regrets as of yet, I love Dave Mustaine and Megadeth and I hope the rest of the album is up to the true Megadeth quality!

It's getting waved off now since "I Don't Care" came out,

Why?
I've read a lot of crap about I Don't Care, how bad it is, how immature it is. But those complaining all come from serial whinners who spend their days complaining about everything. Or the Dave haters who claim he hasn't written anything good since the 80's. They all negate themselves. Until it's proven otherwise the album is worth hyping.

I like I Don't Care as I dig that whiny, immature side of Dave. Songs such as 1000 Times Goodbye, Wrecker, I'll Get Even, Look Who's Talking. I can hear why some don't, but to me it's just fun entertainment that stands out as something different. Nobody's forcing anyone to take it seriously.

Having said that, I probably prefer the ballads that sound more mature (such as The Hardest Part Of Letting Go...), but they're cheesy too so I don't take them too seriously either.
