Megadeth peace sells

Not positive but during that time I would imagine modded Marshalls, like the Lee Jackson stuff (Metaltronix).

Aside from the Sneap albums, I think all of their albums sound really strange besides Peace Sells and Rust In Peace.

Countdown was my favorite Deth album. first one I ever heard, the production was fuckin' ace. I had to have drawn a lot of my tonal shape and early style from that album alone... and then I found Rust in Peace.

Peace sells, RIP, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia had the best sound from Megadeth. I agree that in the newer albums the sound of the guitars are little rare more modern and "digitalisher". And I don't mean the composition, I love lot of the stuff like "The System has failed".

I don't know, any 90's album just sounds way too ridiculously dry. It sounds like the guitars were recorded in a vacuum, a place with no air.

Mustaine did make a point to mention that the rhythm guitars in CtE were completely dry when they recorded them. They do sound really dry. Although I love Youthanasia, the guitar tone always bugged me. I don't know what it is, it just seems a bit out of place.

The drum tone on Countdown <3 I usually don't like dry drum tones but this album is an exception. That wonderful snare probably has something to do with it.

I always thought this live concert sounded really good, especially the drums. The sound in general seems ahead of it's time for 1992.
