Heyah cowfolks!

You've prolly allready talked about this here, but Megadeth will remix all the "old" albums. Personally I think it's a terrific idea since I feel that the material somewhat suffer from the soundquality. What are your opinions? Should a cult record stay the same way, since it has got a status without any hi-fi bullshit, or is it a great idea to improve something that's allready great?

It would be nice to know how you all feel about this!

Rawk on! :headbang:

I like the idea, I also like the idea of adding bonus tracks. That makes you justify the purchase. However, I will only buy the records up until Countdown, after that record the band went to shit.... People always hound Metallica, but they should get on Dave's ass about "the joke" that Megadeth has become...

Yeah. He said they were convinced by their label to make big bucks and that's why they turned into shit. Some fans justify them by saying that, which I find weird since they don't seem to claim any integrity from their idols. I am pretty quick to send the guillotine on my fave bands when they seem to turn to the road of crap.

I pass!

a) I like the original ones I have no complaints
b) I didn't like the famous reissue of "Killing Is My Business...And Business In Good", so I had to kept the original one because Dave and the lawyers didn't have enough balls to sent Lee Hazelwwod to suck his dick regarding 'These Boots'
c) I like MD.45 - "The Craving" as it is, I don't need Dave singing on it.

Another cashing scheme like the countless Iron Maiden reissues, the Alice Cooper boxsets, the Black Sabbath boxsets, etc.

So far only the Judas Priest CBS catalogue, the Castle Records Iron Maiden reissues and the B.O.C reissues of their early material worth have it (good new bonus tracks, nice remastering) IMO.

I heard one of the songs and yeah, it sounds good but I'll proably stick with my old ones because it's the sound of those that hold the memories. Plus, I have them all already. I think it's a good idea for some of the newer fans but I have too much on my current watch list so I don't need doubles at this point.

I liked the remix of "Killing Is My Business...And Business In Good", you can almost hear "new" riffs you didn't notice in the original version, and the bass sounds much better.

I'm not sure about buying all these new reissues though, maybe "Rust in Peace" or "Peace Sells" but not his records released lately.

I really agree with all of Wyvern's points. The worst is when they actually record new parts, like on Ozzy's first two albums.

But I don't mind remastering if it's not simply a cash grab. I won't be replacing my old Megadeth CDs, however.

Yep Fang I have to Completely Agree with you there I thought the "Killing Is my Buisness...." Remix was great! EVERYthing sounded Better and you can hear Gars drums Perfectly! I will Prolly Get "Rust and Peace" aswell

I think that the remastered KIMB was great as well. Has any one heard the remastered Iced Earth albums? Alot of people cry and say it was a waste of money and that they sucked. I thought they were great and well worth the money. It's not like some one put a gun to their head and said buy the remastered albums. Some people just complain to complain. I heard the remastered version of Good Mourning/Black Friday and it sounds really good, and is a bit longer than the original. One thing I noticed about Rust in Piece is that even though it is mixed really good IMO, it is mixed at a lower volume than other albums.

I didn't know that many people hated the remastered KIMB disc, I thought with the exception of the edited "Boots" version, it was great! The liners where very informative & overall a great buy, I think. I have a couple of the remastered I.E. discs, I don't know what all the bitching is about there either...

Wish I could get it. It's not been released in Europe so far so you'd have to order it. But everytime I walk into the store with money in my pocket it doesn't stay in there long enough for doing so. And I just can't find a copy that someone ordered but never picked up....
