I think most of the album sucks balls...good lead work from Chris Poland though.Kick the Chair is still the best tune on here.

The System Has Failed is a great album. Theres no doubt that its not Daves best work (because nothing will ever top Rust in Peace or Countdown), but I think that this album stands apart from the rest. It definitely is a cross of early Megadeth style (not RIP-Cryptic Writings era) but like when Poland was in the band (KIMB and Peace Sells) and Daves newly developed style of playing. The album my not have the raw thrashy feel of the earlier albums because Daves playing and his persona have evolved. He is clean and rehabilitated. Also Chris Polands playing on the album should not be overlooked, that guy rips with the best of em. So take the album for what its worth, like it or not, because it will probably be the last Megadeth album.

Yeah, after several more listens it's gotten kinda tired. It's not really a BAD record, but just very uninspired-sounding and mediocre. MegaDave is showing his age.

Oh well, there's the new Kreator to look forward to. And whatever happened to Sadus? Weren't they writing something?

Apart from a week's vacation to Hawaii, I haven't worn shorts in something like six years. This is gonna take some getting used to.

The upside, of course, is that all the chicks are walking around in halter tops and skirts or short shorts.
