MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"[The European] tour is going great and we have confirmed our start of summer festivals in Europe and are working on our summer festivals in the U.S. and Canada.

"I wanted to tell you that we have been considering many bands, and although it is not 100% official yet, we have agreed to take the spectacular ***** ******* out as our very special guests and friends. We have also agreed with the mighty band **** *******. This will be awesome!!!!!

"This is going to be part of a 5-6 band 'personal favorites of mine' type tour, and we are securing the last 2-3 bands as we speak. And although this will not be an outdoor or arena size festival in all of the markets, we will be playing stadiums in our heads

"So, keep your fingers crossed and I will keep you better informed as the Summer U.S. tour developes."

Alot of people on Blabbermouth are thinking this means Ozzfest but if those idiots took the time to read they will realize its not going to be a huge all outdoor festival like Ozzfest and there will only be 5 or 6 bands involved in it. They are thinking the stars mean Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden but that would be one star too many for Maiden. My guess is Dream Theater and King Diamond. This year is being rumored to be the last Ozzfest ever. To me this means maybe Dave Mustaaine will be starting up a new yearly metal festival that tours the US. He may be starting it off small to 5 or 6 bands and may in a few years it will expand who knows. King Diamond talked about being part of another US tour this summer so the whole thing does make sense for him. Dream Theater and Megadeth co-headlining could be very interesting. This is very cool news and shows that true metal is still on the up swing. I know Dave has a thing for Children of Bodom. Throw them in there!

Megadeth and Dream Theatre? Get on! I wouldn't imagine that for a second!

But if it did happen, it would be awesome! And to be honest, I definately trust Dave Mustaine with handling a decent annual Metal festival more than I trust Sharon Osbourne...

My opinions: I doubt Dave would want to bring Dream Theater on tour, since that would bring in a bunch of people who only want to see DT & leave before Megadeth plays. I'm not sure how well King Diamond's "black metal" roots play into Dave's current born-again mentality. Also, I wouldn't jump the gun and assume this is planned to be a recurring annual event. There's always some kind of summer tour like this (though it's usually 2 or 3 bands, not 6... so who knows?)

Im sure the black metal thing wouldn't bother Dave. The music is a form of entertainment, he could enjoy the music and not believe in what King has to say. Dave just had a blast on tour with Exodus and in one of Exodus' new songs "War Is My Sheppard" the lyrics consist of lines like "You put your faith in Christianity, I put mine in artillery" and "Christ never done me a mother fucking favor".
