Megadeth to tour with Testament and Exodus!

EXODUS busted their asses harder than ANTHRAX, and they put out a fuckload more better albums than ANTHRAX. Therefor EXODUS should be apart of the big4, NOT ANTHRAX. ANTHRAX are from the new york, not the god damn bay area. Start your own big 4 east side wannabe's.

A fuckload more better albums? According to? It doesn't matter where you're from. Anthrax put the NYHC influence to use during their more straight-forward thrash days, which rounded things out.

Slayer was influenced (at least Jeff Hanneman is) by all of the great early 80's Los Angeles punk/hardcore scene. Ever listen to "Undisputed Attitude?" (Check my avatar and screen name for further listening) But Slayer aren't Bay Area Thrash either: they are from Los Angeles. Are they "wannabes?" While we're on the critical list, I don't know if wannabe's needs an apostrophe.

The Belladonna reunion is over, so make negative comments about Anthrax elsewhere. This is OUR band and something we hold sacred.

Thank you, Well said.

i dont think there would be to many people on this board that didnt love exodus at 1 point, fab disaster is one of the best thrash records ever made, just happens that anthrax got a little bigger .

The Atrocity Exhibition is a great record too..... one of the best thrash record of recent years.

UA is a shitty punk covers album, so what Slayer is metal I can get to the bay area in my car the same day from LA. Anthrax started kissing mtv's ass, and helped start the idea of rap numetal so I think their useful contributions to metal stopped along time ago.

Undisputed Attitude was incredible! By far my favorite Slayer album, though not to discredit the sheer genius behind any of their other albums. If you've ever ridden a skateboard while listening to "Abolish Government/Superficial Love" (T.S.O.L. covers), you'd know what I'm talking about.

As far as Anthrax not making any recent useful contributions to metal: what recent contributions has Exodus made? Testament? Megadeth? Death Angel? They've released great albums, but really haven't appealed to new fans, just their devoted following.

Nothing against the above said bands at all, but not many of todays younger bands are directly influenced by any of them. They are influenced by the likes of Lamb Of God, Unearth, etc., who were directly influenced by 80's thrash.

The only real marketable bands from the 80's thrash era are Metallica and Slayer, unfortunately. At least Anthrax were brave enough to venture out of the thrash territory and experiment and reinvent themselves over and over again. Again, what contributions to metal have any of the thrash metal bands made recently? You can only go so far with any given formula.

Isn't Exodus a glorified Gary Holt solo project.

Uh, you know that Tom Hunting is in the band as well, right? He's the one that actually founded the band. And Jack Gibson on bass has been in the band for like 13 years or something. It's not just the Gary Show.

And Anthrax can suck a dick. How dare they accept one of the coveted spots at the Big Four gigs. The band they are now isn't the same band that made them big. If they had started their career with this current lineup, they wouldn't have gone far.

Saying Anthrax started rap-metal is like saying Aerosmith started rap-metal. They did two "rap" songs. One was a joke and the other was a collaboration with one of the greatest rap groups of that time. I see no shame in two bands/groups coming together for a song or two. Anthrax hardly based their career on that song, they were well established by that point. Same goes for PE. As a matter of fact, I would say both Anthrax and PE have far fewer fans now than they did when they collaborated.

Nu-metal was an inevitability. I don't blame any of the great 80's metal bands for it. It was bound to happen. A more streamlined "angsty" version of metal was exactly what the late 90's teenagers wanted. It was the natural step after grunge died out. Or was grunge Anthrax's fault too?

We should all just be thankful that most of the great 80's acts are still kicking in some for or another, and that there are even a handful of newer bands churning out some great metal/rock these days.

I can't believe how many people come to the Anthrax board just to hate on them.
