Melechesh - Emissaries

At the show, they played some new song that's in two parts, can't recall the name but it fucking ruled! Great band, I'll be stoked to pick up my first album by them!

just heard the first 2 tracks ... they blew my nuts off ... never heard anything else from these judens, but i shall search now

This is just astounding. I've been spinning this since yesterday. The thing I love about Melechesh is that you can listen 100 times, put it away for a few months, and then hear it again as if it's the first time all over. It's like your Melechesh virginity grows back or something.

I think Melechesh is quite okay. The band is good/great song by song, but I find their style quite tedious while listening to the whole album.

death metal: it's good gym music, and gym music fails in most other situations, except maybe driving

otherwise you can say the same about death metal as a whole. Most death metal is so one-dimensional, its value disappears after 2 songs. It's like a quick blast of energy and then you can get on with listening to something more thought provoking. Melechesh, however, are multi-dimensional, like old Aeternus, encapsulating a ton of atmosphere, folk instruments, ancient chants, and the pungent smell of incantation!

It's still mostly gym music so I don't necessarily disagree :loco:

BOLLOCKS

Demilich - Nespithe
Demigod - Slumber of the Sullen Eyes
Seance - Fornever Laid to Rest
The Chasm - Deathcult...

not one dimensional!

I said *most*

Listen, when death metal is good, it's spot on, but when it's bad it's possibly the worst thing metal has to offer next to lolcore

But on average, I would say DM has the largest shit band :: good band ratio
