Melechesh - Emissaries

I think that the popular conception of DM is essentially "gym music", a genre built on dumb, brute force, which is what I think JK was getting at.

Personally, I don't even think of the bands swizzle listed as DM, it feels like an insult. Anytime you have one label that popularly encompasses both Dying Fetus and Demigod, Cannibal Corpse and The Chasm, the label has failed as a description of the music.

Agreed. I just have to laugh because back in 89 and 90, when I first started hearing this music, I would never have dreamed of it being considered in such a context. Hell, the fans of this music hated gym, smoked dope and the closest they got to gym was high top Reebok sneakers with the pants tucked in.

basically, I can't sit at my desk listening to death metal and twiddling my thumbs

death metal is good for lifting, driving, and shooting puerto rican neighbors

there should be an entire sub-genre labeled "gym metal" :loco:

Melechesh
Morbid Angel
Bathory
Amon Amarth
Destroyer 666
The Crown

all of those are available on the bow-flex comp

JK has the entire Enya disco on his ipod, it's just relabeled to look METUAALLL!!! :p

Seriously though, I put on Considered Dead all the time when I'm working out, it sure as fuck isn't "gym music" but you can't deny it's ability to get your blood flowing. :headbang:

I know that is ultimately what he's saying, and I agree. But I still twiddle my thumbs to some kick ass death metal.:Smokin:

I picked this up along with my crock pot, and noticed the shrink wrap was still on it. Unlike the brisket that was never to be, I'm currently getting pillaged!
