From Vendor's perspective, sales volume this year might have been much lower. There were less than half of the crowd compared to past years in the vendor room. Last year I did not notice this. But this year it was a night and day difference

Digital music buying and digital music stream services seem also taken hold of ProgPower demographics as well.

If that was the case, I didn't notice, I was the busiest I've ever been at the Nightmare tables BOTH days.

I don't think that was the case. If anything, I'm probably buying more music during the year than I have in past years, and I feel like there were fewer new releases this year by high profile bands than there have been in Septembers past. The new Freak Kitchen, the new Redemption, and the new Anubis Gate were the three that I was excited about.

If I had a suggestion for improvement for next year it was that the vendors should get advanced warning who the bands were next year, and thus didn't bring enough product for them (if they had any at all). I would have definitely bought the three or four disks of bands I wanted to sample for next year, but I couldn't on site.

The problem with slow sales Friday was security
People plain did not come in and we did not know what was going on until many started filling us in.

Our TOP buyer picked up $950 in sales. However, even with the security pat down issue, Just in the first day, sales we larger than both days of last year combined. It helps to bring a TON of merch.

It would have been GREAT to know next year's bands because we had only 10 copies of Dynasty but 60+ back at home

I think I had the opposite impression of security. I was super happy with Glenn's discipline of security this year, not allowing folks to come in early. It was our fault that we weren't better prepared when doors opened, but it was very nice to be able to trust the scheduled door times this year.

We were much better prepared with a more varied selection this year, and I agree with you that it definitely paid off. I think Nightmare also experienced a banner year in sales (Lance can confirm).

I feel like knowing next year's bands could be a tricky subject for the vendor room, but I don't really know enough about the pros and cons to butt my head in here.
