Mesa Mark III clip vs POD

The Mark is miced with SM57, a little inward from where the dustcap meets the cone.

It's actually a Toneport, but its the Big Bottom model.

My vote goes to Mark III. Even that I like PODish tones I think the MarkIII sits better in there bro.

I like the Mark III best. The POD tone isn't bad but it has some high end fizz that I don't like.

that pod is terribly scooped sounding compared to the mesa. the mesa makes you mix sound more professional. if you want a more scooped sound i would just pull some mids out of the mesa.

The mesa could be a little bit brighter, but for me, it's the clear winner. Sounds much more natural and pleasant to my ears.

the pod is quite nasally compared to the mark III. Digging the mark III more, but it seems like it could be a bit brighter

Thanks for the feedback guys. The Mark seems really dark to me. I had a 57 on axis over the dustcap and it still needs more top end. Kinda confusing.

The sm57 is kinda dark. Try raising the 1 kh - 4 kh and you will be fine.

I like the mark III one. Second has more high end but all most too bright.
