Metal 2015

I'll just drop a quick list of bands who are probably going to release a full-length next year for now. Some better known ones and some neverheards.

Amorphis
Be'lakor
Barren Earth
Enslaved
Tool
Chaos Divine
Anthriel
Turbid North
Oddland
Pressure Points
Nerve End

Looking pretty decent already.

Nice looking forward to Barren Earth. I hope its as good as their first album.

That's a pretty good point actually. Album was okay and all but shit, Summoning would make them look bad by comparison.

Just posted on Blabbermouth: Armored Saint is going to be releasing a new album next year

Veteran Los Angeles metallers ARMORED SAINT have inked a new deal with Metal Blade Records for the release of the band's next studio album, due in 2015.

"We have been with Metal Blade for the last three records now," ARMORED SAINT singer John Bush said during an appearance on the inaugural episde of the "Inside Metal" show with host Bob Nalbandian (see video below).

Bush, who fronted ANTHRAX between 1992 and 2005, and temporarily rejoined the group for a number of shows in late 2009 and early 2010 but stepped aside in May 2010 in order to make room for the return of Joey Belladonna, added: "[Metal Blade head honcho] Brian [Slagel] is awesome. Without Brian, there would, basically, not be ARMORED SAINT, quite frankly; there would not be a band. I mean, for him I think it's a labor of love. He's not looking to go out and buy a new house in Miami Beach with the revenue that he's gonna get from ARMORED SAINT. He does it 'cause he cares, and he wants it, and he believes in us, and he knows that he likes the music that we're making, and we're extremely honored and happy that he does that."

Regarding the progress of the songwriting sessions for ARMORED SAINT's next CD, Bush said: "We've been writing songs for about a year, a year and a couple months, maybe, and we're about ready to do drums.

"Everything's done a little differently these days, as far as recording-wise. But a lot of vocals have been already sung. And it's gonna be awesome."

He continued: "[Bassist] Joey [Vera] is gonna produce. He's just really coming into his own as far as a jack of all trades, and a master. He's awesome. He's a great writer. He's very, very meticulous in the way he does everything, and he gets the job done. He's written some great stuff. And we have an awesome camaraderie as far as writing together.

Bush added: "I'm proud of what we're doing, I think it's gonna be a
cool record.
"We don't have a title yet, but it will come out next year, and then we'll do some shows."

ARMORED SAINT's new album will feature the following songs, among others:

* "Win Hands Down"
* "Mess"
* "Muscle Memory"
* "An Exercise In Debauchery"
* "In An Instant"
* "Up Yours"

About the track "Up Yours", Bush said: "It's gonna be a great song. [It's got a] very big anthem-type vibe to it. It's not gonna sound anything like 'Can U Deliver' [from ARMORED SAINT's debut album, 1984's 'March Of The Saint'], but if there was a vibe that just kind of felt like that, it's this song. And it's cool. It's got a cool title and a fun chorus that you can sing along to."

ARMORED SAINT's latest album, 2010's "La Raza", sold around 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 18 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. "La Raza" also entered the German Media Control chart at No. 96 and the Canadian Independent chart at No. 85.

The classic first EP from ARMORED SAINT was reissued on August 13, 2012 in Europe via Metal Blade Records with bonus tracks and etching on vinyl.

Great news. According to Katatonia's Facebook page, ..."Katatonia just released their 'Last Fair Day Gone Night' DVD last month and are writing a new album for a 2015 release."

Also, according to Omnium Gatherum's page, they're writing new material for what has to be a 2015 release.

Looks like next year is already turning out great with the bands already mentioned up to this post...

NP: Abysmal Dawn - Perfecting Slavery

Napalm Death say they'll have a new album out in January called Apex Predator- Easy Meat. Should be awesome can't wait.

Yea, they're really not that great. The worst thing they could do for themselves would be to release an album the same year as Summoning.

Echoes of Battle beat out Old Morning's Dawn for me, which is shocking because Summoning is the best and Caladan Brood are pure imitators. Don't understand how it's possible but...

New Lamb of God if anyone cares.

I thought they weren't going to do anything for a while after Randy got bailed out of jail or whatever, the only one of show I thought they did was at Heavy Montreal, if they really are making a new one then fuck yes!

and fuck yes for a new Omnium Gatherum such a fucking awesome band!

They'll be touring Europe next summer at least, so I guess they're activating up.

They really are. All their albums are great but they came into their own with New World Shadows, which is simply amazing from start to finish, and then slightly regressed with Beyond, which is great but not quite up to par with the former. Still killer, though. And they have the best death metal vox in the business with Jukka. How deep his voice can get when he growls is something of wonder.

Dear friends and fans, here it finally comes!

The legendary Skepticism are preparing to record their new album, Ordeal. Instead of usual working methods, the band has chosen a different approach. The recording will happen in front of a live audience on January 24th at Klubi in Turku, Finland, and the event will also be captured on film.

The concert is the first time any of the songs on Ordeal will be heard in public. According to Skepticism, the new songs are emotion-laden, crushing, and yet beautiful, more than ever before. Visitors to the historical recording event will also receive a repro of the band’s first 7” EP, originally released in 1992. This 7” will not be available to the public. Tickets for the concert can be purchased HERE: https://www.tiketti.fi/Skepticism-Klubi-LIVE-Turku-tickets/28678

Ordeal will be released in May 2015. The album will be available as a CD/DVD bundle and also as a LP/DVD set. The album will be released by the Finnish label Svart Records, known for their championing of the local metal underground and high-quality vinyl reissues.

Skepticism was formed in 1991. The band has been often stated as one of the pioneers and founding fathers of the funeral doom metal genre. Ordeal is their fifth full-length album.

Still a long ways off but I'm already salivating. Very interesting idea to do the whole thing live but this isn't just any band we're talking about here and if anyone can pull it off its Skepticism.

I don't get Skepticism. I know some people put them on a pedestal in their micro genre of funeral doom but they're just boring like most bands in the genre. The only one I can really listen to any more is the untrue one, Ahab. Thergothon and Disembowelment are good too I suppose if we are including them fully in the genre.
