Metal Alliance tour 2013!

Sounds like much fun was had by most during this tour. Excellent. Guess it is time for Anthrax to slowly fade away for a while unless your lucky enough to be hitting this Iron Maiden festival. I was at the recent Iron Maiden show in Detroit and enjoyed it a lot. Seen Anthrax at lot in the Detroit area over the last several years so I can't complain really. Good times.

I've got to say I like how over the entire time since Joey rejoined they only placed St. Louis once: Mayhem Fest.

Come on now.

I love it!

Keep in mind that the Fillmore is right across the street from Comerica Park and the Detroit Tigers are playing the New York Yankees for home opening weekend. The first game was this afternoon and the Tigers won with three home runs: one by Alex Avila and two by Prince Fielder. The game was over hours and hours ago but the bars in town are still filled with people at 7PM. The game starts tomorrow at 4PM so I expect a traffic nightmare in some ways. Hopefully there isn't any rain delays so that the outgoing traffic has a chance to let off before the show is out.

Ended up getting the day off of work... so we decided to get there early and go over to Hockeytown for some grub and a beer. As we are standing outside of the Fillmore, who comes out of Comerica and across the street? Anthrax.

Guess they were over at the game and were coming back for the meet 'n greets. Then after that was finished a couple of them went back over for the rest of the game.

Four of the five bands sounded great the exception being High on Fire. For some reason their sound seemed screwed up and too loud. Municipal Waste kicked ass and had a huge circle pit and more pit action then the rest of the show except during Indians. Exodus was great as well. I am glad I got to see them.

Yeah - High on Fire was awful! Couldn't hear the singer and everything just sounded muddy. Had never seen Municipal Waste before - but they were great! Tired of seeing Exodus - just getting bored of them maybe?

Of course Anthrax was fantastic. I'm hearing a little age on Joey's voice. But it was great to see them again after all of these years! Damn - that makes me feel old. lol :Smug:

That's just be how the band is.

I've never seen them live though, so I can't tell you if their live sound is accurate to their sound.

Can't same the same, I think he's at the top of his game. The NY shows this weekend were the best he's ever sounded to me, out of 11 Anthrax shows and countless Belladonna/Chief Big Way shows. He hit notes in NY that I didn't know he could. And compare him now to the Alive 2 album - nowadays takes the cake.
