Metal bands with melodic female vocals

Subrosa (Gothic Metal)
Kittie (Alternative Metal)

I don't really like Kittie, but you might. I'm not sure what I think about Subrosa yet, and I don't even know if I have the genre right. They are a pretty weird band.

I'll prbably catch flak for this, but I'm a super big fan of "Stream of Passion's" first album. They're not what you're looking for necessarily, but it's a great album IMO.

Within Temptation - all their albums are great if you like symphonic metal with female vocals and heavy-enough guitars.

here's a music vid with a song from their new album

and a fan video

p.s. the girl is Hannah Verboom from Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo, she is Dutch just like the band.

If you like Within Temptation, Stream Of Passion, Lacuna Coil and that kind of FFM, Delain is quite good too (though a little cheesy, but still). Ebony Ark is decent too. Ram-Zet includes some female vocals too...
Clean female vocals rarely come with heavy music -_-

Battlelore is one of the better bands in this style. Also old Dark Moor (three first albums) and Fairyland (the first album) should be noted (the singer's voice isn't very feminine though).

I second Battlelore

I'm sure you'll like Unsun and The Birthday Massacre

Just one last one that I can't decide myself if I like it, the closest thing to pop metal I've ever heard!
