I cannot tell you what drivel they're signing these days. The metal community should just turn its back on this label unless of course you like Metalcore and want clone upon clone to be released while true heavy metal artists remain unsigned. Ugh.

But of course, MTV2 laps it all up so everyone plays along.

OK so I was listening to my old METAL MASSACRE VII today and fucken SENTINEL BEAST are like speed metal Maiden meets Slayer. Then you've got COMMANDER, HERETIC, FLOTSAM & JETSAM, JUGGERNAUT, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, and who the fuck is TITANIC? (That song rules too).

Who knew that CIRITH UNGOL were on the first Metal Massacre comp, alongside Metallica? Click here for a cool summary. Look how the once mighty have fallen.

They've got some good bands, but I'll agree w/ your point, they've taken a major fall.

Look how fucking cool Metal Massacre V was:

Look at this band list:

# Omen "Torture Me" (3:26)
# Voi Vod "Condemned to the Gallows" (5:09)
# Attacker "(Call on) The Attacker" (3:35)
# Future Tense "Nightmare" (3:50)
# Overkill "Death Rider" (3:52)
# Fates Warning "Soldier Boy" (6:20)
# Metal Church "The Brave" (4:27)
# Lethyl Synn "Destroyer" (3:27)
# Final Warning "The Warrior" (3:49)
# Hellhammer "Crucifixion" (2:50)
# Mace "Marching Saphroyites" (4:07)
# Jesters of Destiny "End of Time" (4:25)

That's like fucking 1983 or something...most of the songs are different versions to what ended up on the albums.

Metal Blade in the mid 80's = rule

You know, I'm not sure. For some reason I want to say he's gone, but I can't remember why I think that.

massive amounts of cheese were oozing from some of those MM volumes ... but they did break a bunch of bands ... for better or worse.

Throughout the years I've enjoyed a few acts on Metal Blade, but they've always had a substantial chunk of mediocrity.

Oh yeah, forgot about CC.

Everything else though is basically metalcore. Just when it couldn't get worse than nu Metal.
Wow, you really think so? I would take metalcore loooooong before I did nu-metal. And this is coming from a dude that enjoys some nu acts, but not any metalcore. Well, I don't own any CDs from that genre, I think. :loco:

Primoridal and Vader are on there as well ..

and they had Vehemence, which most of you don't give two shits about, but that band really smokes

Yeah, true that. Why Primordial even fucking signed to Metal Blade is a total waste, although that said, Metal Blade Germany gave them a ton more attention.

Since signing to Metal Blade, Primordial have played ONE show in the US, at Heathen Crusade, for free. ZERO support from the label.

Vader will always jump onto a US death metal tour, no worries. They've got a mass appeal (Slayer fans would swallow them up), but Bolt Thrower are obviously too 'unique'.
