Terve!
Just wanted to ask if there are any recommendations from the Finns here. I'll be in the Helsinki and Hanko area for the next two weeks. Dont't want to miss any insider tips. :)

And what about music stores? I'll have the whole Saturday in Helsinki waiting for my girlfriend to arrive. So... plenty of time to check some gear.

Thanks!

I've always wondered, why... when people visit new cities they ask for "music shops"?

You can buy CDs in your home town, go see some proper stuff.

Nah, I'm looking more for local stuff. Things I won't get in Germany. You always find "different" stuff in different countries... that's what I'm interested in.
And regarding CDs - I don't want to buy any international 08/15 music when I'm in Helsinki. I speak some Finnish... problem is that I don't know the places where to find good stuff.

You could try Keltainen Jäänsärkijä near the Scandic hotel. I usually find some good stuff there, especially in the discount shelves. When you go to the railroad station and face the main entrance (with the statues holding balls), look left and go along that street until there's a large plaza on your right and with Scandic hotel to your front. Head up that hill until a building comes up, and walk right from there. There's a mall entrance in front of you, turn left just before it and walk up the street on the left. Keltainen Jäänsärkijä is 20 meters up the street. Just look to your left for a place that looks like a CD store. That's the place ;) Here's the google map for it: http://tinyurl.com/kux7to They have a bug in the road view of it, but you'll get the general idea where to head.

And while there, there's a famous live rock music club next to it, called Tavastia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tavastia_Club

Here's their program: http://www.tavastiaklubi.fi/index_en.php?group=2

Because everyone's not listening the regular music you can get from every store you go to?

If you're in Helsinki, I suggest you to go http://www.musichunter.info/ , but that's only if you're not looking for the regular metal cd's that are not out of print. That store carries a lot of vinyls and cd's used and new. It also has a lot of rock/heavy from 1960 to this date, so it's not a metal shop only, but I've got some nice rare releases form there with a reasonable price.

Keltainen Jäänsärkijä is also good, but nothing that special for a people whom tries to find more rareties, than the latest releases.

Thanks guys! :kickass:
That's what I was looking for. Seems like I'll have fun in Helsinki. Beautiful city BTW. Toivottavasti sää suosii... :Smug:

If you ever plan to visit the Frankfurt (or Rhein-Main area generally), just PM me!
