METAL FOUNDRY SDX - New metal expansion for superior

I'm still missing some really "clicky" kicks, and some of the toms still seem to have that very undesirable 'ring' that I have come to recognize with DFH. EZD is actually the only one I've heard that didn't have that.

On further listening however the "Dirk - Metall" preset seems to be more in the vein of what I like. I'll wait until I hear some productions with it though, before making any decisions. (especially with the Slate Samples around that are just perfect for metal)

Looks awesome, but the demos sound like Ezdrummer again. All sounds very small and tight, not much depth. Would like to hear it in the hands of a sneapster though....I kinda hope its not good because then id want it and ive spent enough on Slate etc! Overheads sound decent...not much different to 2.0 though...

I really like the "Gene - Bleed Preset" clip. There's snapping, ringing and 'verbing like there's no tomorrow... but I actually like that a lot. Can't stand drums that are way dry or "dead".

I can tell you all that these kits (IMHO) sound really, really good.
This is my favorite release to date - and all of the PreSets they have come up with are exceptional.

I am very impressed with some of those names that created PreSets for this product.
I am going to try and post a couple of examples as well - although I'm sure that ToonTracks Clips will be better than mine.
But FWIW - I really think this is a great step for the TT crew.
Just mt humble 2¢

Waterboy - I know you're probably the biggest Toontrack fanboy ever, but you've got to agree that those demos are not up to snuff, especially when you stack them up against SSD. You're entitled to your opinion, but honestly there's no comparison when it comes to metal, at least from what those demos depicted.

BTW... I've used tons guitar equipment over the years with patches by famous players, but did those units usually nail the tone of the artist? Usually not, and I feel this is the case with Metal Foundry.
