METAL FOUNDRY SDX - New metal expansion for superior

Ok, maybe I'm not up to snuff with these things, but what the fuck is a cup chime? Surely it's not that rudamentary to metal, otherwise I would have heard about it.

Also one thing that Toontrack always misses on their clips is reverb, since there is no reverb in the S2.0 mixer, they don't use it in their clips. I'm not saying it will add the depth and 3D-ness that we find is missing, but it will certainly contribute to it.

Yeah, a bell like zilbell

For me it's quite important for anything from breakdowns to blastbeats. I think every serious deathmetal drummer has at least two of those. I don't get it why couldn't they include it in a 35 gb liberary

As usual, the toontrack demos suck. Go figure!

I'll still end up getting this, I have a feeling, if only for the cymbals. I've got Superior 2.0, the NY Expansion, and now Slate Samples... woudn't mind more quality cymbals that can be loaded in the S2.0 sampler!

My drummer has one of those bells too, fucking annoying little thing.

Anyway demos sound really thin, I hope its just a matter of poor mixing because this was THE thing I've been waiting for.
I've heard good things coming from the HIT Factory expansion, have any of you guys tried it?

No offense, but your "waterboy" avatar has been all over that forum for as long as I can remember, and I frequented that forum for a long time. It's easy to see why you might be "slightly" biased in Toontracks favor.

I own S2.0 and I would be all over this expansion if it sounded great, but those demos are more than dissapointing.

I agree these don't sound like uber produced drums, but I think they are very promising nonetheless. What Toontrack excel at over anyone else I feel is sounding like real drums in a room. The bleed / mic options / cymbal articulations are awesome for making realistic drum tracks from scratch. Then you can just augment the drums with other samples as needed like you would with a real kit. I'll be picking the expansions up for sure at some point.

TBH..... I prefer the demos from Platinum Samples' Evil Drums. I'm sure this expansion pack can make some great sounds, but they're not selling it that well!

I really like the overheads and they seem to have outdone themselves on the hi-hat(s?) this time!
I don't like the kicks on their own, but I'm pretty sure they are great to blend!

I'm getting this ASAP. I think the potential in this volume is going to be great. There are some really good samples in the player. Some sound a little thin, but I a confident a little mixing magic will rectify all that! The DugOut Bully's sample sounds great

FWIW - I uploaded (2) very small clips to show one of the smaller Kits with and without the PreSet Mixer Effects (i.e., dry and wet ... like a big ol' hairy poo-nah-nee)

Examples

Nobody asked me to do these - and they aren't a great example.
I just wanted to show what could be possible with no effort at all.
Both of these examples are using the same kit -

Don't dawg me too bad .... I don't want to be a nuisance ...
