What a smashing success! Despite a bit of a rocky start, the jam went ahead full steam with a lot of you talented musicians filling in for those who signed up but didn't make it. All I can say is, YOU MISSED ONE HELL OF A PARTY!!!! Everyone in attendance was super-cool and everyone played great!!! As a co-organizer of this Jam, I'd like to extend an extra-special thanks to MiniMurray for letting us use her pad for this. We've GOTTA do this again sometime! Classic moment: Bruce Chickinson playing bass on "Angel Of Death". AWESOME! I hope to see you all again on October 19 at Marlin's in HB, including all the MIA's. Thank you all for making this such a great event!

I certainly didn't play great on the 3 songs I played guitar on last night. But at the actual event if there's an electric fan pointed at me [I can bring my own if required] and if I can hear better, hopefully I can play much better.

Also, doesn't the main riff of the song Wrathchild start on the note D? That's what it says in the Iron Maiden Songbook [which I know has plenty of mistakes]. I played it that way at the event last November [where that seemed to be correct] and I practice to the CD playing it that way. But last night something sounded wrong, and I think I heard Sara yell "wrong key!" at me.

TAKE THE LEAD!
and you're right about the riff Jeff
maybe we were outta tune a bit?
sounded great on angel of death btw
the scream was perfect!

Some may wonder what happened to my posts on this subject.

The reason that I've been in a foul mood about the party is not the fact that I missed it but, that it was almost 2 1/2 hours after the start time of the rehearsal that anybody even tried to call me to find out if I was coming or even if I was still in one piece.

I guess I don't need a much bigger sign than that to know how unpopular I am.

Naw, all of us definitely missed ya! The jammin actually didn't start till after 9, because it took awhile for people to show up. Close to ten people didn't show up, which is a lot considering many were to play on more than one song! We figured people would eventually show.

Jeff, Gary, Bill and I are planning to set up another rehearsal, perhaps next Friday at Sound Arena. I will make sure to keep you posted.

Friday the 10th ?

Cuz thats my sons 10th bday party and I can't miss that.

BTW JEFF MILNE KICKED ASS ON ANGEL OF DEATHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

That was a hell of rehearsal. I think I enjoyed Victim of changes the most. That aside from the many people I jammed with in the other rooms.

Awwwww....yeah Smiley....we started over two hours late and I noticed that you still weren't there and I WAS worried so I coordinated all the songs without you go first until I had a chance to go out to the car and get my cell phone and call you to find out if everything was okay. I was the one organizing all the names and order and the sign in table or I could have come and gotten you. I think Leo was going to call you too...she, Bill, Eddie and Drumslut were asking about you too...but I told them that I called and found out that you had car trouble...or I'm sure she/they would have called you too.

:-( Don't be mad...
Everyone missed the SMYLEX!!
:) Everyone always misses Smylex when he's not with us.....

Friday will be a bad day for cos I gonna be at McFly's son's b-day party. Is Saturday okay? That way no one is driving in from work...

Not if I get the day off. The Maidens are playing at Canes that day.

Yeah, especially Linda... :(

And, I'm not mad. I'm just surprised that nobody seemed to notice that I wasn't there on time or 30 minutes early like I normally am for everything. That's not like me, especially when I'm presented with the chance to play. Then, I'm usually there 90 minutes early, at least!

If it's Sunday, then we can get Eddie and Leo in to work on their material as well, since I know that we're all playing tunes together at several points during the night. Sunday is when Leo, Eddie and I have band practice anyway so it should work well for us. :)

Anytime Saturday and Sunday (late afternoon and all evening) work for me. How much time do you think we need? 2-3 hours? I guess it depends on the number of people who will be there.

I'll call my people. ;) :D

Will 3 pm be too early?

3pm is okay with me if it's an OC location. Now we just need to book a centrally-located studio like Sound Arena that has drums, amps, PA, etc. There is one in GG and one in Anaheim. The average hourly rate for a fully-equipped rehearsal room is $14-$20 so everyone be prepared to contribute!
