Hey guys

Having some problems with the mix of one of my bands songs. Can't really describe it, just not even sounding close to clear enough.

I have posted this song before, but i had some problems with the di's which i have retracked and now is all sorted.

Bit of Info

Guitars - esp alexi emg 81 - focusrite liquid 56 - tse808 - reamp box - bugera 6260 w/dummy load - lecab 2 - spres8 impulse. eq'd

Drums - mix of sd2 and slate trigger

vocals - condensor through various vst compressers, verbs, etc

Bass - yamaha bass, ola's way

Hopefully someone can give me some starting points

EDIT: better post link lol

Cheers

Honestly, the only difference I can hear between the first mix and latest update is that it's even more congested sounding, the guitars are higher in the mix and it's just louder overall.
The guitars in particular are a big problem in this mix. Way too big sounding and just not letting the rest of the mix breathe.
Do you have an actual guitar cab on hand?

i have an actual cab on hand, just nowhere to mic it up unfortunately :(

i guess il try lowering the guitars and cutting some more eq out of them...

Cheers for the advice Harry, i'll keep playing with it.

I was thinking more along the lines of you trying to do the tone again from scratch with different amp settings
